The Grateful Dead released American Beauty in 1970. It was there
5th album release. It moved away from experimental records like "Aoxomoxoa" and "Anthem of the sun." It sparked new creativity and a more rootsy sound based on songwriting and structure. It has some of the Dead's most famous songs, like Truckin, friend of the devil, Ripple, and much more. To me, it is a near-perfect album and is widely thought of as one of their best.
